In today's video we return to the DLC out for Order of Battle: World War II (Originally Order of Battle: Pacific), which we missed and never covered when it first came out last winter, Order of Battle: Blitzkrieg. OOB Blitzkrieg is a DLC Pack which puts you in the shoes of the German Army during the early years of World War II and takes you thru the opening campaigns of Poland, Norway, Belgium, France and beyond. In this video I'll be starting a new let's play series for the game with the aim of fighting our way thru the campaign and linking to the new DLC, Order of Battle: Panzerkrieg.
After two years of lighting victories all across northern Europe, the German army has suffered its first major setback in the war. The great offensive to the east - the invasion of the Soviet Union - has stalled right in front of the gates of Moscow.
Following the relentless defense of their capital city, the Soviets have launched several major counter-attacks during the harsh winter of 1941. German forces are forced to retreat and regroup, but must maintain their position in reach of Moscow. Once the Soviet attacks have been broken and the strength of the Panzer Divisions is replenished the offensive will resume - until total victory has been achieved.
Panzerkrieg, the new expansion for Order of Battle - WW2 forms the second part of the German Grand Campaign, following the previously released Blitzkrieg DLC. Players can start the Panzerkrieg campaign from scratch, or import their core force from the end of the Blitzkrieg campaign - including all the previously unlocked commanders and specializations. The campaign focuses exclusively on the Eastern Front, including iconic battles such as the Siege of Sevastopol, the devastating urban warfare at Stalingrad and the epic clash of armour at the battle of Kursk. And more!
2nd Battalion, 502nd Airborne Infantry Regiment move to Cam Ranh Bay to relieve the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment and secure the area for the arrival of the ROK 2nd Marine Brigade.
This operation had no combat and as such is not really an active scenario in that sense. However, to make it a little interative I have added two Vietcong irragular units. It was common for many operations to include no actual combat. Nonetheless, strategically they could all have resulted in engagements of some sort and so I will include them for historic reference.
The objective is to secure the area for the arrival of the ROK 2nd Marine Brigade which arrives on the map to the north on turn 6.
Operation took place between 22 September 1965 to 19 October 1965.
